Twitter is about to roll out what can be called its own version of Universal Search Results says Matt McGee, the Editor in Chief at Search Engine Land. Is Twitter going the search engine results way is the big question but certainly they have made sure that the twitter search experience on desktop is now same as that which was on mobile.
The company announced a roll out on August 1st in this tweet.
Search update on http://t.co/eNvqKTup1d: See photos & accounts in results + recent searches & social context as you type your query.

Some of the searches I tried on Twitter tells why the current search results are clean, clear and easily filterable. Try Clicking out Photos, People and Accounts on the left menu to get or filter specific results.
We were able to experience what Matt rightly calls as the new universal search results on Twitter with these searches: #Google, Google Glass, Barack Obama etc. Try the new Twitter search results and let us know how you feel in the comments below.
