Google, the company which constantly battles Piracy & Privacy has taken another important step towards fighting piracy across their services which contributes to the major part of the internet. The company which is being blamed for having problems on the “piracy” issue by the publishers is definitely taking right steps to prevent it from happening. Google recently published a report on how it fights piracy. Google provides updates on its new ad formats which are specifically meant to fight piracy. The company is testing a new ad format on its search results for queries related to music and video to help users find right & legitimate sources of media.
Google is showing up its new ads on the search results page (still in a testing phase) for terms such as “download”, “free” and “video” in a bid to fight piracy online. The ads appear on the top of the search results on the main stream and also on the right side, on the knowledge cards.
These ads on knowledge graph cards show on queries such as “artist” and “album” names.
