Google finally has come up with a simple, very effective and a much needed feature to its Android users who think or have lost their phone. Yes you can now find your phone with the new Android Device manager which will be rolled out later this month as part of Google Play for all devices running on android 2.2 or above.
Think you have lost your phone on the couch cushion or in the restaurant last night or even if you think that someone might have stolen it, don’t worry any more. The new Android Device Manager which will be part of Google Play soon will let you ring your phone with full volume even though it is in silent mode, locate it on a Map in real time as it can be seen on the image below.
With Android Device Manager you can also quickly and securely erase the data before it ends being used wrongly by others. Google calls this option as “Wipe Device” and can be used when your phone is stolen and it cannot be recovered.
Benjamin Poiesz, Product Manager at Android also says the users can also expect an Android app soon which will allow them to easily find and manage their devices.
