YouTube today silently announced that the channels on its site with more just than 100 subscribers can now use Live streaming. This certainly comes as a surprise to some of the marketers and publishers as YouTube had just lowered the bar on live streaming for YouTube Channels to 1000+ subscribers less than 3 months ago. The company says that this option is being rolled out gradually and the channel owners must be able to see the “Enable” button on their account features page soon.
In some of the other announcements the company also says that its going to allow smaller video publishers to choose custom video thumbnails for their videos, link to their sites with video annotations and place viewers inside video playlists. These options were previously not available for smaller publishers.
